Once again Beazer Homes’ fearless leaders, Brian Beazer (Chairman Emeritus) and Allan Merrill (CEO), along with Beazer corporate and division employees, are gearing up for the St. Jude Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon in Nashville, Saturday, April 29, 2017, all in support of a worthy cause.
In 2016, Team Beazer participated in the half-marathon event to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). And this year, the team sets its charitable sights on giving back to Fisher House Foundation, an organization that provides local no-cost housing for military and veterans’ families while their loved ones receive treatment at major military and VA medical centers. For over 25 years, the Fisher House program has provided “a home away from home” for these families, and there are 71 Fisher Houses located in the US, Germany and United Kingdom to date. The organization has also received an A+ rating from Charity Watch and 4 out of 4 stars from Charity Navigator.
“We are excited about growing our charitable activities because of it allows us to work together to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Beazer Homes CEO Allan Merrill. “When combined with athletic events like road races, it lets us encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.”
Last year’s event drew crowds of support from the local Beazer Nashville office staff. Employees positioned themselves along the race route to cheer on both Brian Beazer and Allan Merrill as they ran, with signs that read, “Beat Allan Merrill,” a nod to the friendly competition set between both Chariman Emeritus and CEO. Beazer employees across the country also did their part to support the team by positing photos on social channels with BAM signage.
If you’re in or around the Downtown Nashville area on Saturday, April 29th, we invite you to join us as we cheer on runners along the race route. The half and full marathons begin at 7:15 a.m. ET (6:45 a.m. ET start for 5K) with starting line at 8th Ave. & Broadway, and finish line at Nissan Stadium. Or, follow the conversation on social by searching this year’s hashtag #BeazerRunClub on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
