Discover Beazer

Florida natives Ryan Garitta and Melissa Cruz searched for a new home they could move in and make cozy before their wedding in September 2016 (Ryan even proposed in the garage foundation!). Read on to discover their Beazer Homes story, below:

As told by Melissa:

“We started our search looking at pre-owned homes in the Tampa area but we kept running into the same issue –modifications were needed. After several attempts at searching for a pre-owned homes, we wondered about new construction homes but weren’t quite sure if we would find one within our budget. We searched online for homes in nearby cities and stumbled upon Beazer. We called and made an appointment to visit the community!

Before meeting with Asya, our New Home Counselor, we were debating the pros and cons of new construction homes and had lots of questions. She was very thorough in describing how the process worked, but it was up to Ryan and I to commit to saying yes. We viewed several lots in the community, and went back to Fort Lauderdale to talk it over with Ryan’s parents.  Although we were still weighing our options (pre-owned, new construction, even renting) they seemed to be on board with new construction. A week later we were back in Asya’s office, asking more questions, and looking at the model home again. We finally said yes and decided on lot 723! The entire purchase as a whole went smoothly. Will Valentine (our lender from Suntrust) was very helpful in the mortgage process, and was there to answer all our questions along the way.

Ryan and I got very lucky with the personalizing of our new home. The lot we chose was already permitted for the model home we wanted–bedroom #4 instead of the loft, master bathroom A instead of option B, and a couple of upgrades that we would have wanted any way. The design warehouse was an experience we will never forget! Sheila, our design consultant, was very patient with us. Our 4-hour appointment turned into a 6-hour appointment and Ryan and I are very pleased with all of the upgrade choices.

We have met some of our neighbors and (fur) friends in the dog park, and we like to walk our dog Mookie around the lake daily to get to know our community.  Everyone has been very welcoming and happy to get to know us.

We both love our home, but we differ on what is our favorite. Ryan’s favorite part of the house is the kitchen. He loves the large granite island and how we utilize the space for entertaining. I on the other hand, love how spacious the master bedroom closet is! Although the pond view was a major selling point to us, what had me sold was how big the closet is–I’m still obsessed.

It feels incredible to be a homeowner! It’s our little piece of property that we can grow into. Just the other day I told Ryan how happy I am to call this house our home. Buying a house can be an exhausting but worthwhile process, and with the help of the Beazer family, we were able to turn our house into a home.”
